Daily Experience
This National Historic Landmark resides on Dakota homeland, at the confluence of the two rivers known as Bdote, with history spanning 10,000 years. Here, the stories and experiences of many people converge and collide, and continue to unfold today.
September 5 - November 2, 2024
The visitor center is open all fall, Thursday through Saturday, and admission includes the newly opened Many Voices, Many Stories, One Place exhibit, orientation film, make-it-take-it activities for families on Saturdays, and more!
Fort 101 guided tours are also included with admission and take place three times daily on Thursdays and Fridays at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm; and five times daily on Saturdays at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm.
On Saturdays (excluding September 7 and 21), we are also offering a series of special tours included with admission:
- 10:30 am: Family Interactive Tour
- 12:30 am: Family Interactive Tour
- 2:30 pm: African Americans at Fort Snelling Tour
No Guided Tours on Thursday-Friday, October 17-18. We'll be offering the following due to MEA: MEA Days: Create Your Fort Experience instead.
Outside access to the historic fort is dependent upon the weather and a tour from the comfort of our visitor center will be offered as needed. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather for outdoor tours.
November 3 - December 31, 2024
