About This Event
There are many things, such as Christmas trees and decorations, that remind us of the holiday season. Many of us share common holiday traditions such as gift giving or putting up outdoor lights, but have you ever wondered where our Christmas traditions started? Christmas has a remarkable history—not all of which you may expect! In fact, there were several times in history when Christmas was unpopular and looked very different from the Christmas we celebrate today. As we go through the history of all things Christmas, you may be surprised by where our traditions originate and how they came to be as we know them today.
David Kuball received a degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and now works for Optum Health in the technology field. His love for history has been a hobby for most of his life.
David has been a director and the treasurer of the Golden Valley Historical Society since 2017.
Space is limited, so please pre-register. This is being offered as an in-person event, drinks and light refreshments will be served.
