Bring your students to the places where history was made and where it is preserved. MNHS historic sites and museums around the state offer field trip programs that engage students and bring history to life.

Minneapolis - Minnesota History Center: Grades K-12

Greater Minnesota sites & museums
- Forest History Center: Grades 4-6
Grand Rapids - Historic Forestville: Grades K-8
Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park - Jeffers Petroglyphs: Grades 3-12
Comfrey - Lower Sioux Agency: Available April - October
Morton - Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post: Grades K-12
Onamia - Snake River Fur Post: Grades 3-7
Pine City - Split Rock Lighthouse: Grade 6
North of Two Harbors - Currently not accepting field trips for spring 2025 (March - May).
Scholarship funds and subsidies
Scholarship funds and subsidies are available to help offset the cost of field trips and transportation. Discounts based on your school’s Free and Federal Reduced Lunch Program (FFRL) enrollment are available. Please check with your administration for your FFRL enrollment numbers.
